What social media use is allowed?
Social media use is not allowed at school. You may use the features of your school Google account for academic purposes only.

Can I use lab computers to work on assignments for other classes?
The lab is open to students most days after school. If you want to use the lab for school purposes only, you can sign up on the sheet outside the door.

Can I print in the lab?
No, but a printer is available for Junior High students in the library.

Can I listen to music?
Yes, you can listen to school-appropriate music using a music or radio website (like Pandora) during class or when working in the lab.
You cannot listen to music when:
  • an adult is speaking to you
  • during a class discussion
  • while watching a video for class
  • anytime the music might interfere with the class

Can I watch YouTube?
No, you can only watch YouTube when it is part of a class assignment.

Can I play a game/visit a page that is not on your website?
Please ask before visiting websites that I have not linked to.

If you know of a game or website that other students might enjoy, use the Suggest a Game button on the main page of this website to let me know about it.

What can I use my Google account for at home?
You may use your account for assignments and projects from school. If your parents give you permission, you may also use it as a personal account (for email, hangouts, etc.).

You should be aware that when you use your school Google account, you are representing All Saints. Messages you send and documents you create
can be seen and searched by Mrs. Wade and Mr. Lang. Cyberbullying and other inappropriate behavior have serious consequences.

What can I use my Google account for during class?
In Technology classes, you are welcome to use any features that contribute towards an assignment or project.

Can I chat and email during class?
Yes, if you are communicating about an assignment or sending something from one computer to another (such as a game link you want to share with a friend).
You cannot chat or email if:
  • The sign on the classroom door says "No Chat"
  • You would not want everyone in the room to hear what you are saying
  • Your message is not related to the assignment
  • You are communicating with someone who is not a student or teacher at All Saints

What should I do when I come into class?
When you come into class, please use hand sanitizer, go to your computer, and follow the directions on your class webpage.

What should I do when I finish all my work for the day?
If you finish all current Technology projects/assignments, you can play the games on this website or work on homework for other classes.

I didn't finish all of my work during class. What should I do?
Most assignments will take multiple classes to finish, so if you are a little bit behind and we are continuing the project next class, you can just catch up then.

If you get more than a little behind or aren't going to finish by the due date, you can either ask Mrs. Perrier for a zero hour pass or
sign up to come work in the lab after school on the sheet outside the door. You can also work on many assignments from home.

How is my daily grade calculated?
You start each class with 10 points. Your behavior and participation determine whether you lose points during class.
Things that can cause you to lose points:
  • Distracting others/being distracted
  • Not working on the assignment
  • Doing work for other classes
  • Using an inappropriate voice level
  • Leaving your workspace messy
  • Visiting unauthorized websites

Can I make up a bad grade?
Short answer: ask the teacher.
Long answer: depending on the class and the assignment, you may be able to revise your work outside of class to improve your grade.
Typically, you need to revise the assignment within a week of the due date to get credit.

Why do I have a 0 (or M) on an assignment I finished in class?
If you don't turn in an assignment on the due date, I will assume that you haven't finished it and mark your assignment "M" for Missing in ParentsWeb.
ParentsWeb will calculates Ms as 0s.

Some assignments require you to turn in multiple files. Your assignment is considered missing until all files have been turned in.
